Dr Tejendra Pherali (President)
| Dr Tejendra Pherali is a Senior Lecturer in Education and International Development at UCL Institute of Education, University College London where he leads the MA in Education and International Development. He holds a PhD in education, conflict and peacebuilding from Liverpool John Moores University, UK; MEd in Integrative Learning from Endicott College, Massachusetts and MEd from the University of Sydney, Australia. He teaches and researches on educational issues in conflict-affected and humanitarian environments such as Afghanistan, Cambodia, Jordan, Lebanon, Nepal and Somaliland. Dip Giri (Vice Presiden)
Dip Giri was born and raised in Nepal where he completed MBA from Tribhuvan University in 1993. He worked as teacher in schools and Colleges including Bhanubhakta Memorial and Prime College, Kathmandu. Dip worked in the capacity of Deputy Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, Central Bank of Nepal. He used to write articles for a Nepal based daily newspaper and is also a lyricist. He is currently working for Maybank London as Executive Officer, responsible for Treasury Operations.
Lekh Nath Kharel (Secretary)
Lekh Nath Kharel holds MSc in Civil Engineering and has more than 20 years experience in Railway, Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering. He works as Senior Planning Engineer with Transport for London.
He has also served as Executive member of Independent Power Producers Association Nepal, Founder Executive Member of Institute of Engineering Alumni Association. He is a member of Nepal Engineers Association and member of Institute of Civil Engineers.
Ram Krishna Adhikari (Treasurer)
Ram Krishna Adhikari is a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer in Jacobs Engineering Ltd working in a wide range of Engineering Projects including Crossrail Works and other Network Rail’s Investment Projects. He has extensive experience in the design, construction, assessment and management of stations, depots, railway and other civil and structural engineering works. He started his professional career in the UK in 2006 with White Young Green Ltd then joined Jacobs in 2008. He was born in Chitwan and completed his Diploma, Bachelor and Master’s degree in Civils and Structural Engineering from Tribhuvan University, IOE, Pulchowk Campus.
Sharmila Neupane (Joint Secretary)
Sharmila Neupane is a highly driven entrepreneur and has ventured into various retail sectors. In her previous role, she was Administrative Director and founder of Vidha Sadan High School, Nepal. She holds Bachelor degree in Economics and has undertaken vocational qualification in management.
Narayan Sah (Executive Member)
Narayan Prasad Sah is a management consultant. He is currently working independently in private colleges in the UK as freelance lecturer and as HR Advisor. He is also running a educational training company “Sagarmatha Consulting Ltd” for those who are in or interested to build career in education sector. He started his career in pharmaceutical company and worked for 11 years. He has completed MBA from the University of East London and PGD (CIPD) from Surrey University.

Pabina Aryal Dahal (Executive Member)
Pabina Aryal completed her schooling from Bhanubhakta Memorial before proceeding to study at Tribhuvan University, where she completed B.Sc in the Natural Sciences. She has worked for Nabil bank for a decade before moving to the UK. She currently works for Barclays and considers herself as proud mother of two amazing boys. |
Shankar Chaudhari (Executive Member)
Shankar Chaudhari is a Chartered Civil Engineer and works for London Underground as Project Engineer. He studied Civil Engineering from Institute of Engineering, Lalitpur and completed postgraduate education from Nottingham Trent University and Westminster University. He volunteers as engineering ambassador to inspire young people and promotes STEM subjects. |
Surya Tamang (Executive Member)
Surya Tamang has taken lead in many industries and is a successful entrepreneur. He completed MBA from Tribhuwan University in 1992 and currently lives in Kent.
Tirtha Poudyal (Executive Member)
Tirtha Poudyal has completed MA in Economics from Tribhuwan University. He currently woks as a Merchandiser with Yuni International, which is a leading brand in ladies fashion clothing. He has also worked as Lecturer, teaching Economics at Everest College, Brilliant College and Kshitiz College. He worked as Researcher in various program run by Government of Nepal. |
Ashish Timsina (Executive Member)
Ashish Timsina is originally from Kathmandu, Nepal. He is a Computer Science graduate currently working as a software developer in the banking industry. |

Dr. Hem Raj Sharma (Advisor)
Dr Hem Raj Sharma is a physics lecturer in the University of Liverpool (UoL). Before joining UoL, he was a Senior Government Researcher in Japan. He got his PhD from Germany (2002), Diploma from Italy and Master Degrees from Japan (1999) and TU Nepal (1997). He has been awarded prestigious international awards for his research such as JSPS fellows (Japan), EPSRC Advanced Research Fellow (UK) and also the gold medal for best MSc in Physics from TU. He has published more than 50 research papers in internal journals, including review articles and book chapters. He has been involved with the global network of Nepali Diaspora, NRNA as a member (2007-2011), the spokesperson (2011-2013) and the chair of the constitution committee. |
Narayan Bhattarai (Advisor)
Narayan Bhattarai, MBA, MPhil in Management, has been working in the education sector both in the United Kingdom and Nepal for more than two decades. He currently works as a freelance professional IQA with the UK vocational training and further education providers. |
Bhagirath Yogi (Advisor)
A well-known journalist, Bhagirath has been working as a Producer with the BBC Nepali Service in London since 2006. Prior to that, he used to work as a BBC Correspondent in Kathmandu. During his two-decade long career in media, he has worked with Spotlight news magazine, Nepali Times weekly and Radio Sagarmatha FM in Kathmandu, among others, and has written dozens of articles/features and produced radio programmes for the BBC and other leading media outlets. He practices yoga and meditation and is also affiliated with Help Nepal Network UK chapter. He holds Masters in Sociology from the Tribhuvan University and Masters in Development Management from the Open University, UK |
